Theater Projects

Dom Apollon, the creator of the Apollo Strum Music art project, had the pleasure and privilege of making his stage debut as “The Doctor” in the Truckee Community Theater’s sold out performances of Roald Dahl’s Matilda – The Musical in November 2025 (Truckee, CA).

He is currently writing a two-person play/musical of his own, inspired loosely on his relationship with his proud and patriotic Haitian-born mother, who found new energy and dimensions to her voice in middle-age through self-published poetry and other writing – perhaps not unlike her son has through guitar and singing after her passing in 2020.

The play is likely to include themes of parenthood, intergenerational connection, grief recovery, dementia and end-of-life decisions, the immigrant experience in the USA, masculine privilege, the mental health struggles of Black men, and the triumphant freedom that comes with doing your best to speak your truth and live your life “sans regrets,” no matter who you are.

Most of the songs for the play have already been written (Without Regrets Playlist – Spotify), but the dialogue and staging directions are still in early phases of development. The initial goal is to complete the writing in 2026, and secure actor(s) for a read through in 2027.
